BingeMates App

We’ve all been there. You’re on the couch with your mate—roommate, romantic mate or British pal—and you can’t decide what to watch. You flip through seemingly countless titles before finally settling on an episode of a 90s sitcom you’ve already seen 400 times.

BingeMates chooses something you’ll both want to watch based on the intersection of your tastes. So all you have to worry about is how much butter goes on the popcorn.

(More, please.)

“Round up the usual suspects.”

How does BingeMates work? A magician never tells. Lucky for you, we’re movie lovers and not wizards so here goes: by using curation algorithms that already exist within the most popular streaming services, you get the best results possible. Ta-da!!

“Hello, gorgeous.”

To start, log in to your streaming service of choice and select your account. Then hand the phone to your binge mate and have him or her do the same.

“Hold on to your butts.”

Once you’ve signed in, we cross-reference your recommendations and give you our best pick. Not in the mood for that one? We’ll toss in some backup options you’ll both enjoy.

“Why do they always paint the hallways that color?”

The colors of the app communicate peace and calm, like the green-blue of an olive branch and the shadowy grey of a movie theater. White as an accent and reversed out text is easy to read even in a dark living room. .

“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.”

The couch in the logo is modern, comfy and inviting. The couch cushions make a rotated letter B while the strong contrast reflects the contrasting film and TV tastes for which we find common ground.

“I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”
